When I woke up this Saturday morning, the first thing I saw was a bright, blue sky and I thought what a perfect day for a wedding!
I met Marcy’s Maids :) at the clubhouse where they were getting their hair and makeup done. Meanwhile, the guys were enjoying some time at Taco Mac. When everybody was ready, we headed to the Reid Barn, where both the ceremony and reception were held. As we pulled up to the gravel road, you could see the barn in the distance, right next to the lake. Surrounding this southern barn, were big, green fields and pastures with horses. I could not have been more excited for their wedding day and the pictures we were going to get.
The ceremony was beautiful, and I love how Marcy and Chris made it their own and unique from any other ceremony we’ve covered.
The harpist played beautiful music as all the guests entered the pavilion overlooking the lake. As the barn doors opened slowly, Marcy took a few steps and stopped in the middle of the aisle. Chris held her bouquet and walked up to meet Marcy down the aisle. They met half way and walked down the rest of the aisle together, arm in arm, to become husband and wife. It was so sweet.
After becoming officially Mr & Mrs, everyone danced the rest of the night under the pavillion! During the reception, guests enjoyed homemade whoopie pies and drinks in mason jars. They incorporated so many rustic details. And, as everyone departed, they left with homemade Maine jelly and an old Coca Cola bottle with peanuts. Marcy is from Maine and Chris is from Georgia – they were the perfect gifts, representing both Marcy and Chris.
There were enough for Nick and I have some Maine jelly and a Coca Cola, too. :)
